Block the apps · The side doors
The apps your state list doesn’t reach
Pick’em apps and prediction markets let you bet on the same games, often from the same phone, but they don’t check your state’s self-exclusion list. You have to close each door yourself. Here’s how, app by app.
The short answer
Joining your state’s list does not block PrizePicks, Underdog, Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood, Crypto.com, or the prediction apps from DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics. Do three things:
- Pick’em apps: self-exclude in one app that uses idPair and tick the box to extend it. That covers PrizePicks, Underdog, Dabble and Splash in one go.
- Prediction markets: exclude inside every app you’ve used, including brokers like Robinhood. SelfExclude.io covers Kalshi and Novig.
- Everything else: put a blocker on your phone and turn on your bank’s gambling block. For apps with no exclusion tool, that’s the only real wall.
Before you exclude anywhere: withdraw your balance and close open positions. Several of these apps lock you out of your money once you’re excluded.
Why your state list misses them
They aren't licensed as sportsbooks
State self-exclusion lists are built for state-licensed sportsbooks and casinos. Pick'em apps call themselves fantasy contests, and prediction markets say they're federally regulated financial exchanges. Neither holds a state gaming license, so neither checks your state's list. Source: tn.gov
People on state lists have lost money on them
A Massachusetts man on his state's list lost tens of thousands of dollars trading sports contracts on Kalshi in early 2026. He filed a class action on April 22, 2026. Connecticut's December 2025 order against Kalshi, Robinhood and Crypto.com cited advertising to people on its self-exclusion list. Source: bettorsinsider.com
The broker loophole
Kalshi's own exclusion doesn't stop you buying Kalshi contracts through another app, such as Robinhood, PrizePicks or Sleeper. Each app you can trade in has to be excluded separately. Source: kctv5.com
The courts haven't settled it
In April 2026 a federal appeals court sided with Kalshi against New Jersey. In August 2026 another sided with Nevada against Kalshi. New Jersey asked the Supreme Court to decide on September 2, 2026. Until that's resolved, don't count on your state to protect you here. Source: cnbc.com
One step for pick’em apps: idPair
idPair is a shared exclusion run by the fantasy industry. When you self-exclude inside one member app, you can choose to extend it to all the others. It launched in all 50 states and D.C. on March 10, 2026.
Covers: PrizePicks, Underdog, Dabble and Splash Sports. Dabble also lists Betr, but Betr wasn’t part of the launch, so exclude there separately. · Betr unconfirmed
How: start a self-exclusion in any member app (for example, Dabble: Settings > Safer Gaming > Self Exclude) and tick the option to exclude from other providers. It’s opt-in: if you skip the box, only that one app is blocked.
Doesn’t cover: Sleeper, ParlayPlay, Chalkboard, any sportsbook, or any prediction market, including the prediction products inside pick’em apps.

One step for some prediction markets: SelfExclude.io
SelfExclude.io is a shared exclusion list for prediction markets. You verify your ID once, and member platforms block you within about 24 hours.
Live on: Kalshi and Novig only. Polymarket, Robinhood and a few others say they’re joining, but aren’t live yet.
Lengths: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. You can extend it, but not shorten it. There’s no lifetime option, so set a reminder to renew.
Doesn’t cover: the DraftKings, FanDuel, Fanatics, Crypto.com, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks or Betr prediction products, or Kalshi contracts bought through a broker app.

- Brand by brand, usually by emailing support or closing the account in settings.
- How long
- Varies.
- Watch out
- They pay cash prizes through a second "sweeps" coin and claim not to be gambling, so no state list applies. More than a dozen states have banned them, but many brands still operate elsewhere. A ban doesn't give you a way to exclude.
