How to self-exclude from sports betting in Connecticut

Connecticut lets you enroll online. The catch: the list does not cover the Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun casino floors, and you aren't on it until you get a confirmation email.

The short answer

The Connecticut self-exclusion list covers licensed online sportsbooks, online casinos and lottery sports betting for 1 year, 5 years or lifetime, with no early removal. The tribal casino floors are not covered.

Program: Connecticut Gaming Self-Exclusion List, run by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), Gaming Division. Official page →

Terms: 1 year · 5 years · Lifetime

What to do today, before the state list kicks in

Enroll online with the Department of Consumer Protection and watch for the confirmation email; until it arrives, you're not on the list. Exclude inside the DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics apps today, and ask the casinos about their own exclusion if you go there.

Then read how to block each app — excluding inside the app is usually faster than any state list, and it’s the first layer of the firewall.

The gaps people miss

  • Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino floors (and any gaming conducted solely on the reservations) are NOT covered by the state list. Enroll in each tribal casino's own program.
  • Removal is not automatic when a 1- or 5-year term ends, but you can request removal online once the term is over. Lifetime is permanent.
  • You are not enrolled until DCP's confirmation email arrives.
  • Prediction markets (Kalshi, Robinhood, Crypto.com) are unlicensed in CT; DCP issued cease-and-desist orders on Dec 3, 2025. The list does not bind them. Close those accounts yourself.
  • Offshore and unlicensed sites are not covered.
  • Affiliates of CT licensees in other states may be told you are listed, but other states' own lists are not triggered.
  • Some third-party pages (e.g., CCPG) still list PlaySugarHouse as the Lottery's sportsbook. The CT Lottery's online/retail sports partner is now Fanatics (2025).

The Betting Firewall

This is one wall. You need five.

The Connecticut list makes licensed operators refuse you. It does nothing about offshore sites, prediction-market apps, a friend’s account, or the money in your checking account. That’s what the other four layers are for.
